Introduction to Piezo Drivers (Amplifiers) and Controllers
PI offers the largest selection of digital and analog controllers and drivers for piezomechanical systems worldwide. Electronics play a key role for maximum performance of piezoelectric NanoAutomation® systems (such as PZT translators) and PZT driven NanoPositioning systems (such as Flexure NanoPositioners or PZT tip/tilt platforms). Ultra-low-noise, high-stability servo-controllers and piezo drivers are essential because even micro-volt changes of the control voltage are transformed into motion. For applications, where maximum throughput is crucial, PI's digital feedforward techniques and highspeed interfaces speed up manufacturing processes. For dynamic high-power applications, our energy-recovery power amplifiers provide up to 2000 W of peak power.

Digital Piezo Controllers
Digital Piezo Controllers from PI boast a variety of special features not found in other controllers:
Digital Dynamic Linearization (Download PDF): improves high speed scanning linearity by up to 3 orders. Polynomial linearization: improves static linearity.
Input Shaping (Download PDF)® eliminates recoil and ringing of loads, fixtures and adjacent componentry in any high-throughput actuation, eliminating settling dwells.
Auto-Calibration (ID-Chip, contains calibtration data). Internal coordinate transformation (allows multi-axis parallel-kinematics positioning systems with parallel-motion metrology (Download PDF).
