PI Ceramic— PI's ISO 9001 certified subsidiary — provides a wide selection of high-quality PZT materials to suit many applications. Discs, Plates, Tubes, Rings and Shear Plates in a variety of standard and custom form factors are available from the following materials (please ask for special data sheets):
PIC 110 PIC 110 is a barium titanate ceramic with a Curie temperature of 150°C and high frequency constants. It is used for sonar application and specialized transducers.
PIC 140 PIC 140 is a material with high mechanical stability and polarization resistance in connection with a high mechanical Qm and high Curie point. Applications are in the field of power ultrasonics, sonic navigation/ ranging and medical diagnostics.
PIC 181 PIC 181 offers high electromechanical coupling factors with reasonable mechanical Qm and good mechanical stability withstanding high electrical fields. Typical applications are power ultrasonic components.
PIC 151 PIC 151 is a characterized by the highest piezoelectric coupling factor, a very high dielectric constant and consequently a high piezoelectric constant. It is especially suited for micropositioning components, low-frequency ultrasonic transducers, buzzers and ultrasonic speakers.
PIC 155 PIC 155 is a material with a high piezoelectric coupling factor, low mechanical Qm and low temperature dependence of the dielectric constant. The material is especially used for low-frequency ultrasonic transducers in pulse mode and for transmission and reception over a wide temperature range.
PIC 255 PIC 255 material is a modification of the PIC 155 type. The increased charge constant makes it useful for actuators and highly sensitive receivers.
